It’s back to school time!
We educate year-round and took the month of June to regroup. Now we are back in the groove and having a great time starting second grade (and pre-K). We have been spending the week writing definitions and laying the foundation for our studies. This year we are creating definition books for each subject. Abigail and arithmetic
We are full steam ahead in our study of Abigail. As we go through the book we are gleaning principles and learning about colonial life and character. The principle we are highlighting is America’s Heritage of Christian Character. And she’s not short on godly character. What a wonderful example of godly womanhood! Just an update on the activities at our house. We watched a lot of coverage that morning. I pointed out different officials to Gabrielle, who kept asking when we could go play. Charles Willson Peale
We are studying Peale for the next two weeks. I was fascinated with him. He accomplished many things and led an intriguing life. Among the many things I discovered: He learned saddlemaking, painting, metalwork among other things. He was friends with many of the founding fathers and as a patriot bravely fought in the Revolutionary War.
