It is the best investment I’ve made in a long time.

There are 11 volumes included (see the list here). They are all searchable and interactive, so I can search a topic and the program will search all volumes for every reference. It saves so much time.

I can also tag passages with my own notes and save them. This is very handy as I study.

The footnotes are hot linked as well, so when it refers to other volumes you can click and read the full context of the footnotes. It’s so nice not to have to get out 4 books to read 4 pages!

It copied all the volumes to my hard drive, so I do not need the CD-ROM every time I need to use the program. I can just click the icon and get cracking. It saves time on 4-R ing subjects and word studies as well, because it contains a KJV Bible and Webster’s 1828 Dictionary.

If I discover any more cool things the program will do I’ll post again (and I probably will!). The hard copies are also terrific to have because sometimes you need to hold a book or you just don’t want to be at your computer. But for study and lesson preparation this is a wise investment.

As I have done so many times, I get wild ideas and don’t really think them through. So, in case you have been looking for the principles study here, it’s not happening. That’s because I have been working with Lisa H. on an idea we have had for a couple of months now. We are beginning a study similar to the SDS in James Rose’s book, A Guide to American Christian Education.

We are really excited about it. It’s not overwhelming or voluminous. It will fit neatly into your summer schedule the next 12 weeks (it starts next Monday, June 19). If you need a little refresher, if you are new to BPA or if you just like to study, we hope you will join us for the weekly lessons and discussion. You’ll be glad you did!

join the GACEstudy group

And don’t forget about the opportunities to see Ms. Dang and Mrs. Smith this summer. If you can get to where they are you should go. (look on these sites for more info on conferences)

Oh, and I’m working on lots of material for my blog here, I just have been really busy lately and blogging is down on the list. Thanks for reading and let me know any BPA questions you have. I’ll answer to the best of my knolwedge and then I’ll find an expert.

I plan to include links, summer reading, activities for all ages (even preschoolers) and resources to make your study time easier and more fun.

Hope you will make plans to be a part of the excitement over the next 7 weeks!

I got a letter today from the Foundation for American Christian Education and they have some wonderful things in the works. I’m sure they will have lots to say on their site soon, but I’ll give you a summary of the letter to whet your appetite.

They are starting a campaign called “Our Sacred Honor” to raise money for some projects that I am curious to know more about. The plan is as follows:

Over the next 5 years they will raise money through grants and donations to 1)open the Slater and Hall Christian History Library and 2)unlock the Christian History treasury. What exactly is the treasury you ask? well, they have big plans to get more people to use BPA than ever before, with more tools than ever.

The Treasury will include:

a training model that will make it unnecessary to travel for training. They say it will work for schools, churches and home educating co-ops. (The DVD training is part of this model.)

digitizing all Foundation publications and resources (yea!)

publishing new books to bridge the gap between the Red Books and today’s culture. Among the books in the works is a modern version of Christian History of the Constitution.

This is a breath of fresh air. Having tools we need to introduce others to BPA, applying Biblical Principles to today’s culture, searching the Red Books instantly–these are changes I can’t wait to see! Thanks FACE, for listening to us. If you would like to donate, please contact them at www.face.net .
