I know I just gave away a book last week, but I am so excited about my new look that I want to give some goodies away! Here’s how it’s gonna go down:
Because this blog incorporates several things I am passionate about, I want you to leave me a comment about what you are passionate about. I will draw THREE winners. Two will win my ebook and one will win a for real blank journal. (US residents only please. )
Deadline is September 15, 2009. Only one entry per person please. I’ll announce the winner Sept. 16.

This is actually a good question for me. I’ve been feeling unpassionate (yeah, that’s not a word) lately. But my passion for Christ, history, and art are still in there. They gush out every once in awhile. Just today when I was talking to Bug about government, he thought I was getting mad. I had to explain that I wasn’t mad, just excited to teach him.

The three things that I am most passionate about are how I can manifest God’s love in my work and daily life, my daughter and her growth as an individual, and being a compassionate help and oft times muse to those around me who God has put in my path.
I have been blessed in so many ways throughout my life. Though things have been far from easy at times, I never really expected an easy life. If you ask God to grant you patience, He isn’t going to go “POOF There you go, you’re patient!” No, he will give you ways in which you can practice patience and by doing that learn how to become a more patient person. I think the hardships that I have gone through have been what have strengthened my resolve throughout the years.
Outside of God, my daughter is the answer to all my whys and my constant source of inspiration and awe. How she views the world and the people in it are of the utmost importance to me. How she cares for herself and others, how she gives of herself, how she carries herself…that affects everything in her life. I have been homeschooling my beloved since she was three years old in a manner that she enjoys and does well in. We ‘freestyle’ if there is such a thing, pulling from several sources in order to give her a more well-rounded learning experience. We do not rely on any one curriculum, rather we find what suits her best and tailor it to her understanding; allowing her to really enjoy learning without unnecessary stress but pushing her comfort zone enough to make her want to crave the next lesson, the next activity. I want her to grow up strong, independent, and intelligent with common sense (which are not the same thing). She is the greatest work of art I have ever had the pleasure of collaborating on and I thank God every moment for her.
I love playing muse and working with charities. If one doodle, one piece of my work, can inspire someone else to strive for better or even just make someone smile I have done my job. I have always wanted to make a difference whether in the world or to just one person. God has gifted me with talents that, through Him, have put me on a path as an illustrator, writer, and designer that connects me with a lot of people. I want to spread compassion like a virus. I want to encourage and teach and guide. I want to help open people’s eyes to the simplicity of God’s plan and the beauty He has given us in everything. “Paying it forward” is how I try to live my life and ever my goal. Passing on that stewardship attitude to my daughter through my work and my life is what I want to leave behind.
“What we leave behind is not what is engraved on stone monuments,
but what is woven into the lives of others.” – Pericles
