It's a staggering thought. Lord, help my children to choose to see challenges and steeping stones and not barriers. Help them to make the right decisions in Your Wisdom. By definition, they had huge obstacles to overcome. Had they chosen the path most take, they never would have achieved greatness. I just recently came to realize that the life I want really is up to me. Not to sound too much like Glenda the Good Witch, but I had the answer all along. God never leaves our destinies up to others. It is a very individualized existence. Salvation, Fruit of the Spirit, all of it depends solely on me and not others. That is terrifying and liberating at the same time! That was me for many years. I just recently came to realize that the life I want really is up to me. Not to sound too much like Glenda the Good Witch, but I had the answer all along.

God never leaves our destinies up to others. It is a very individualized existence. Salvation, Fruit of the Spirit, all of it depends solely on me and not others. That is terrifying and liberating at the same time!

I think a lot of people choose to remain environmentally controlled and never really realize how much of their discontentedness lies in their own choices. Very nice.
