Great!! I came across HA about 6 mon. ago. A good book to check out at your library is "Fit for life, not fat for life" by Diamond. I have been slowly implementing changes in what I feed our family for about two years. We still eat meat and dairy, but not as much as we used to or the kinds that we used to. May God bless you in your efforts in feeding your family healthier foods!!

Great post! Like you said, you'll take some heat, I do every class I teach, but truth is God created us vegetarians. You can't get away fromt he fact that for over 1500 years people ate only plant based food - AND survived! (What a concept!) Meat eating is allowed after the flood, but our bodies didn't change, our digestive system didn't change after the flood. (In fact some meat eating is commanded (Passover, the priests) - we can't get away from that either, but there are restrictions also.) AND our meat today isn't like the meat then, raised different, killed different, full of man-made chemicals, etc.) And I would think that people would realize with all the major diseases that are caused by meat eating (and their dairy products), that are the number one killers in our society, that it would be a good thing to return to a plant based diet. But old habits and beliefs die hard and are hardily fought for, even if they're killing you.
I'll quit before I have written my own blog here.
At Jesus' feet,
Lisa

I'm not going to say you are wrong, in fact I think vegetarianism is admirable. I am just going to argue one point:
"God did not give us teeth for tearing meat, like lions and other carnivores."
We do not have herbivor teeth, we have omnivori teeth, for both plants and meat.

That all sounds great--I've been down that road myself--until you realize that after the fall God killed the first animal for clothes and food. Then in the New Testament there are a couple of places where God says for us to eat all that He has given us including animals.

If it is a choice you want to make you have perfect liberty, but I would be careful to spiritualize it.
